Rutger Bregman, author of Humankind, to Speak to BA Booksellers Network
08/06/2020
The Booksellers Association has today announced that Rutger Bregman, author of Sunday Times bestseller Humankind: A Hopeful History, will speak to the BA’s Booksellers Network in a virtual event on Wednesday 10th June 2020.
Bregman will be speaking about his work as an author and historian as part of the Facebook Live event, which will be followed by a Q&A session with the booksellers.
Meryl Halls, Managing Director at the Booksellers Association said:
“We are so pleased that Rutger will be speaking to our Booksellers Network, sharing his message about the hidden good in society, and reminding us all that better days lie ahead.”
An established TED talker, Bregman is known for his popular books which use the study of history, philosophy and economics to investigate key social issues, particularly focusing on the ways in which we can work together to create a happier, fairer and better society. His latest book Humankind: A Hopeful History, published by Bloomsbury last month, looks back through history to challenge modern cynicism about the goodness of mankind, revealing that fundamentally human beings are kind, trusting and naturally cooperative.
Booksellers interested in attending this event should request to join the
Booksellers Network Facebook group
