New Government Regulations for Face Coverings: Update and Poster

The Regulations require customers and staff to wear face coverings in shops from today (Tuesday November 30th) until December 20th initially. The definition of shops include shopping malls but not cafes although face coverings are required in takeaways that do not have seating for customers.
It is now a legal REQUIREMENT to provide signage in a prominent position about the obligation for customers to wear face coverings.
Face coverings are to be worn by all staff (when customer facing) and customers. Perspex screens do not eliminate the need for staff to wear coverings. It is understood they do not need to be worn when the shop is closed or by those who would not come into contact with customers (e.g. those working in warehouses and offices within the shop) but that employers should consider carrying out risk assessments to assess whether they feel masks are necessary in these areas.
Enforcement is by local authorities and police against non-wearers who have no medical exemption not by shopworkers.

We have redesigned our face covering assets, which you are welcome to use in store and in windows and is available to download from here
