Booksellers Association Appoints Temi Ayorinde as Conference and Events Manager
06/02/2023
The Booksellers Association (BA) has today announced that Temi Ayorinde has been appointed their new Conference and Events Manager.
Temi joined the BA in January 2023. In her new role, she is responsible for organising and coordinating face-to-face and digital events, including the BA Conference, which this year takes place at Jury’s Inn, Hinckley Island on 1-2 October 2023, as well as national conferences in Ireland and Scotland with the planned addition of a Welsh Conference in 2023.
In addition, Temi will be responsible for the BA’s networking events and award ceremonies, such as the Books Are My Bag Readers Awards and the Parliamentary Book Awards. Supporting a key strand of activity for the Booksellers Association, Temi will work alongside the whole BA team, and will report to Alan Staton, Director of Strategy and Communications at the BA.
Prior to joining the BA, Temi completed a degree in Events Management and has extensive experience in the field. Outside of work, Temi has a great passion for, and knowledge of, film and TV. One of her favourite books is
Gone Girl
by Gillian Flynn, while her favourite film is Christopher Nolan’s
The Prestige
(2006) and her favourite TV show is
Insecure
(2016).
Alan Staton, Director of Strategy & Communications at The Booksellers Association
, said:
“We’re delighted that Temi has joined us. She brings a wealth of experience in Events Management to the BA’s ever-expanding events programme.”
Temi Ayorinde, Conference & Events Manager at The Booksellers Association,
commented:
“I’m delighted to have joined the BA team and look forward to meeting as many members as possible at events throughout the year. I enjoy both the versatility and spontaneity of this line of work, whether I’m planning an event or coordinating it on the day.”
Temi will be the new point of contact for all BA events and conferences.
