Submissions now open for Indie Book Awards 2022
19/01/2022
The Booksellers Association is now calling for submissions to the
Indie Book Awards 2022
, the annual awards curated by independent bookshops and celebrating the best reads of Summer 2022.
Taking place during Independent Bookshop Week (18-25 June 2022), the popular awards comprise four categories: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Children’s Fiction and Picture Book. Publishers can submit up to three titles per imprint, per category. Deadline for submissions is Monday 14 February 2022.
Publishers are being asked to consider seasonality when putting together submissions, and answer the question: which books will readers want to take on holiday with them and read this summer?
Independent booksellers across the UK and Ireland will create a shortlist of six books per category, to be revealed on Friday 13 May 2022. A judging panel of independent booksellers will then decide on the four winners, to be announced on Friday 24 June 2022, the penultimate day of Independent Bookshop Week.
