BA confirms Sustainable Bookselling Conference 2022 programme
21/04/2022
The Booksellers Association has today confirmed the programme for its 2022
Sustainable Bookselling Conference
, with sessions demonstrating how bookshops can work to be more environmentally friendly.
The Conference, which takes place online on the morning of Tuesday 26
th
April, will feature keynotes by environmental policy advisor and author Dr Tara Shine and business coach Catherine Weetman, as well as workshops in which booksellers can share their own experiences.
The event forms part of the BA’s commitment to championing environmental efforts among the bookselling community. It follows the forming of the BA’s Green Bookselling Task Force in 2018 and the creation of the Green Bookselling Manifesto, which offers guidance for bookshops looking to be more sustainable and serves to lobby decision makers to make greener choices.
Meryl Halls,
Managing Director of the Booksellers Association
said: “
We are delighted to conform the programme for our first Sustainable Bookselling Conference, which shines a light on how we can prioritise the environment while still bringing books to readers. We hope that attendees take away tangible steps to be more sustainable in their business. We look forward to hearing experts share their insights and booksellers sharing their experiences.”
