Independent Booksellers Week 2013

Independent Booksellers Week 2013, its fifth year, will run from 29th June to 6th July.  This year we are building on the success of the last five years and to have more booksellers and more events that ever before.  

We are also repeating  the inclusion of National Reading Group Day, a focus for all sorts of Reading Group activity, on Saturday 29thJune.  


On the site www.independentbooksellersweek.org.uk/ we will have all the bookseller point of sale kit items for download and re-use, all the IBW resources, including PR Templates, IBF Guides, local media contacts and information on all publisher offiers for IBW.  We also list here on the site all the IBW bookseller events so that your customers can see what's going on in your shop and what else is happening in other IBW shops across the UK.

Also on the site will be details of the events organised by booksellers over the last two years, to inspire you and get your creative juices flowing.  We encourage booksellers to let us know what they have planned, and send us photos  - either from last year's IBW or this year, as they happen - as it really helps to exchange ideas and projects which have worked.

Once again we are proud to showcase the IBW Books of the Year Award and actively encourage booksellers to showcase the books in your shops - they are a great range of titles, selected by independent booksellers, and should allow you to make striking window and in-store displays by using the titles and the PoS together.

The IBW PoS kit reached registered shops by early May, giving plenty of time to use it in-store, and the IBW Book Prize is still an active part of the Week - with the winning titlesbeing announced on 29th June.
