BA/Nielsen Book Data Author of the Year Award
Each year since 1993, BA members have been invited to vote for the author who had made the biggest impact on their business each year. This impact is not necessarily to be based on sales or on promotional budget, but is to represent a personal preference for a favourite British or Irish author. The winning author is announced during the British Book Trade Awards held at the BA Annual Conference in the spring, where they receive £1,000 and a trophy, sponsored by Nielsen
The winner of the 2007 award was announced as Anthony Horowitz
